2025 Nonprofit Sector Compliance Conference

Submit a proposal to speak at the 2025 Nonprofit Sector Compliance Conference taking place virtually Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Submissions will be accepted between Tuesday, February 4, 2025, through Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Late submissions and applications not submitted through the online Call for Speakers will not be considered.

The nonprofit sector faces many of the same compliance risks as other organizations, along with many risks unique to the sector. For this conference, we seek submissions from speakers who will address the unique risks faced by nonprofits or specialized approaches to common risks. For example, sessions may address, but are not limited to:

  • Issues involving exemption from federal, state or local taxes
  • Compliance with donor and grantor restrictions
  • Government grant and contract compliance
  • Fundraising and special event requirements
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Risks associated with volunteer labor
  • Scaling of compliance and ethics programs for different sizes of organizations
  • Use of technology to assist in a compliance program
  • Managing third-party risks
  • Privacy and related risk
  • Fraud risks in nonprofits
  • Assessing risks in complex organizations

Submission Requirements 

  • Session Title 
  • Presenters and co-presenters: names, titles, organizations, and emails(no more than three presenters per session) 
  • Biography of each presenter  
  • Select ProgramKnowledgeLevel (see definitions below) 
  • Three brief bullet points explaining what attendees will learn from your session (each bullet limited to 100characters) 

Additional Information  

  • SCCE seeks a variety of single-speaker and multiple-speaker sessions (not to exceed 3 speakers per session). When submitting a multiple-speaker session proposal, we value diverse perspectives among the co-presenters (e.g. from different employers, blend of internal compliance professionals and outside advisors, etc.). 
  • All sessions are 60-minute sessions
  • ProgramKnowledgeLevels Definitions:  
    • Basic- Program knowledge level most beneficial to Compliance Professionals new to a skill or an attribute. These individuals are often at the staff or entry level in organizations, although such programs may also benefit a seasoned professional with limited exposure to the area.
    • Intermediate- Program knowledge level that builds on a basic program, most appropriate for Compliance Professionals with detailed knowledge in an area. Such persons are often at a mid-level within the organization, with operational or supervisory responsibilities, or both. 
    • Advanced- Program knowledge level most useful for individuals with mastery of the particular topic. This level focuses on the development of in-depth knowledge, a variety of skills, or a broader range of applications. Advanced level programs are often appropriate for seasoned professionals within organizations; however, they may also be beneficial for other professionals with specialized knowledge in a subject area.
