Odell Guyton

Odell Guyton, JD, CCEP, CCEP-I, is a Co-Founder of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and formerly served as Co-Chair of its Advisory Board. He previously held the position of Vice President and Head of Global Compliance at Jabil Circuit, Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida—a leading diversified manufacturing services company employing over 200,000 individuals across 33 countries. Mr. Guyton is widely recognized for his expertise in designing, implementing, and managing effective corporate compliance programs for both domestic and international organizations. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Washington State Bar, the United States District Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals. Additionally, he holds the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP, CCEP-I) credentials. 

Mr. Guyton retired from Microsoft Corporation, where he served as Assistant General Counsel, Director of Compliance, and Antitrust Compliance Officer. Prior to his tenure at Microsoft, he was the Institutional Compliance Officer for both the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, overseeing institutional adherence to federal and state regulations in healthcare, NCAA, and Department of Education matters. 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Guyton practiced law privately, representing clients in white-collar criminal and civil enforcement actions, conducting internal investigations, and managing qui tam (whistleblower) cases brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. 

He also distinguished himself as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, earning several commendations for his prosecutorial work, including the “Superior Performance as an Assistant U.S. Attorney” award. In addition, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for Philadelphia, supervising a division within one of the nation’s largest prosecutor’s offices. 

Mr. Guyton has contributed to several United Nations initiatives and workshops addressing anti-corruption efforts, such as the “UN Global Compact Guide on Fighting Corruption in Sport Sponsorship and Sport Related Hospitality” and the “UNODC Anti-Corruption Ethics and Compliance Handbook for Business.” He acted as an expert consultant for the Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance in Berlin, contributing to their guide on motivating ethical business conduct, and has lectured for the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Austria. 

His legal licensure includes the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Washington State Bar Association, U.S. District Courts, and the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Guyton holds a Martindale-Hubbell “Preeminent AV” rating, the highest peer-reviewed recognition. Academically, he pursued graduate studies in Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, earned his Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Criminal Justice from Moravian College. He was presented with the Comenius Award, Moravian College’s highest alumni honor, in 2015, and has been formally recognized by the Pennsylvania State Senate for his significant contributions to the legal, ethics, and compliance fields. 

Mr. Guyton served as Special Advisor on Compliance to the University of California Board of Regents and has been named among the “100 Most Influential Persons in Business Ethics” (Ethisphere Institute, 2008) and “Attorneys Who Matter” (Ethisphere Magazine, 2009–2011). He is further distinguished by receiving the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” (Preeminent) Highest Peer Review Rating.
